The thundering of hooves pounding the hard rocky ground echoed through the large mountains. A beautiful blue and white stallion whinnied and shook his Kane in delight of the fresh cool air. His nostrils flared looking for any sent of another horse, grabbing at every smell that the wind brought to him. He slowed to take a drink at a small brooke when a sight shocked him. A paint made like him but with orangesh and white patches. She was indeed gorgeous and Magnum thought he finally found what he had been looking for. He eased down stream toward her, flicking his tail back and forth but keeping his ears on her. "Hello there." he said in a calm and relaxed voice, hopping not to startle her.

Cricket was grazing on sweet river grass just minding her own business when something happened that would change her life. Usually she'd be with her brother Oliver but he had to go off with the other young stallions in the Munte herd on their weekly patrol. Stomping her pale hooves and snorting, Cricket threw her head and tossed her mane.
Damn bugs..
She muttered under her breath. Suddenly a figure appeared beside her and he spoke a smooth greeting. Jumping in surprise, Cricket snorted and pawed the ground.
Oh no, not a stallion...
She mused bitterly.
Coraxe won't appreciate this...
She muttered before putting on a sweet smile and turning around.
Hello.

Magnum arched his neck and nickered, I'm Magnum. You are? His voice was sweet and caring but that was a small mask. He would usually have a stern and overpowering neigh that put some stallions to shame. He looked her over, she was decently muscled and not skinny at all.

Cricket.
She deadpanned with a slightly annoyed tone. She wasn't in the mood for a snobby stallion pretending to be nice and charming, only to be standing there checking her out. She had better things to do. Pinning her ears back she pawed the ground again.
May I help you?
She asked in an unsure voice and a quirked brow.

Magnum nodded when she told him her name. Cricket. Nice. He felt himself shrink a little, Well. I was just passing through and happened to see you. Would it not be okay if I just stopped to say hello? He shook his mane and pawed mimicking her, he smiled in a joking way and stared at her. He was slightly taller then her by maybe a hair but he felt himself trying to stand up straighter and make himself taller. His hears pointed straight at Cricket, grasping for any words or movements.

Thanks.
Cricket snorted her amusement.
Of course it's fine to introduce yourself and have a conversation with me... But checking me out? No... Give it time.
She advised Magnum in a softer tone. She knew he was just being a stallion and doing what all stallions do, but that doesn't mean it doesn't annoy her. The painted mare wondered if Magnum would catch the last thing she said, after all she kind of snuck it in but she meant it. He may be a bit overwhelming but he seemed nice and she was starting to enjoy his company. Especially since Oliver had been gone for a couple or days and wouldn't be back for a few more. Maybe it would be a nice change to get to know another stallion.... Besides Magnum was pretty handsome and judging by the way he was so desperately trying to impress her right now, he wanted to get to know her too. Cricket laughed a bit and cracked a crooked smile as Magnum strained to stand taller than her. Playing off him mocking her earlier, she reared up and balanced on her slightly bent hind legs for a minute to tease him.

Well. Sorry for that.
He snorted a little bit shy. He was just feeling taller when she then reared. His nostrils blew hot air out as he then flipped his mane and reared. He stayed for a few seconds then let his front side fall down to the ground ending with a final loud bang on the ground.
So, What herd are you in. Or, are you in a herd at all?
I grinned daringly and flipped his mane again, it seemed to be a habit of his now a days.

I'm part of the Munte herd... and you?
She replied coolly before lowering her head to begin to munching the sweet grass again. Cricket flicked her ears around her to keep tabs on all that was going on around her, out of instinct, but found herself turning her attention multiple times toward the large stallion beside her. She groaned inwardly as she realized it was on purpose. She, Cricket, the prude mare of the herd, was for once interested, if not attracted to, this brute.
Oh lord... What am I getting myself into...
She mused silently with a roll of her eyes.
