Personality: Lightning is an energetic and spirited mare. She is thoughtful and very gentle around the younger horses, particularly the foals. After an accident when she was a yearling, Lightning now sticks close to the herd and doesn’t like to strike off on her own.
History: Lightning was born to a mare of the Campiile Herd who was stolen away from Lightning’s sire by the leader of the Campiile. Lightning has spent all of her life on the plains with her birth herd, and has no intention of leaving them any time soon.
When she was a yearling, Lightning wandered off from the rest of the herd and got lost. In the middle of the night she was attacked by a pair of wolves. It was only that she could outrun them that she escaped with only a few minor scratches.
Since then Lighting has never strayed out of sight of the rest of her herd, and the sound of wolves howling is enough to terrify her.

Role Play Sample: Lighting stood with head held high and ears fixed firmly forwards. The red-bay mare grazed out on the open plain, and she was starting to get nervous. Although every now and then Lightning dropped her head to crop at the dried, yellow grass, she mostly stood and kept watch.
In the pale light of morning, the mare stood outlined against a backdrop of shadowy mountains. She had been separated from the rest of her herd during a thunderstorm, and she was eager to get back to them. Lightning knew there were many dangers out here on the plains for a horse off by itself.
