Millions of years ago, there were only 2 herds.
Maximus Herd
Calimar Herd
The herds had 2 power hungry, evil rulers.
Maximus herd had Devon, a huge black stallion.
Calimar herd had Lita, a sleek white mare.
The 2 smart horses battled each other, and the battle wiped out half the world.
The 2 herds fled, leaving their waring leaders behind.
Devon had injured Lita badly, but not after he had broken his leg.
They retired to their caves, to find their members gone.
They both thought the other one was the cause of this wipe out, so again they battled, fighting to the death.
Literally.
Hearing of the 2 leaders deaths, the remaining herd members were sad but relived.
They joined forces, mated and split into a few herds, which still remain today.
Was it Destiny that this happened ... or was it Fate?
